Method:
EPA 3511
Description:
Micro-extraction of PAHs In Water
Container:
2 x 40mL Amber Glass Vials, non-preserved
ESC Lab Sciences has completed method validation and is now accepting samples collected in 40 mL containers for analysis of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) by Gas Chromatography/
Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) from the following states:
Alabama Arizona Colorado Floriday Georgia Idaho Indiana Kansas
Kentucky Louisiana Michigan Mississippi Nebraska New Jersey New Mexico
New York Ohio Oregon Tennessee Texas Utah Washington Wyoming
ESC has validated this micro-extraction method and combined it with the implementation of the latest sample introduction technology on our PAH and PAHSIM GC/MS Instruments in our Semi-volatile organic laboratory. Traditional PAH analytical protocol requires the use of 180mL of solvent to extract a 1000 mL volume of water. This new technique has allowed for a 98.9% reduction in solvent, thus making it more environmentally friendly. The new sample introduction system allows for a larger volume to be injected into the instrument, resulting in no impact to the reporting limit of the traditional 3510/8270 and 3510/8270SIM based methods. This latest technology is supportive of ESC’s goals of environmental stewardship and responsible growth.
